Question i
had what i thought was a minor bump into the rear end of a mini, witch mad a tiny dent in the silver strip of the mini i was only moving under 5 mph we exchanged details n decided to settle ourselves but he has come back with a price at 382 pounds i have phoned the mini garage myself n they have told me the silver strip only costs 60 pound brand new i feel like im being taken advantage of what should i do
Answer Hi Dawn,
You should contact the other person and tell him that you contacted the shop and learned that it only cost 60 pound. Before you call you may want to call the shop back and ask what the total cost would be to replace the strip including labor and all. Then call the other person and offer only to pay that much or nothing at all. If they agree, before you give them any money you should draw up a "Release of All Claims" form for him to sign in exchange for your payment. If he refuses to sign, then you should refuse to pay.
