Question
Hi there, i need to renew my driver license, but I had an accident in the
timeframe when it was expired. My question is - does the insurance company
report the accident to DMV, and if so, will it affect my license renewal?

Answer
Hi Steve,

Insurance companies do not report accidents to the DMV. However if their wqas a police report, the police do report to the DMV. An accident history on your DMV report will not affect your license renewal unless you have many other items on your DMV that cause you to exceed the allowable points.

I hope this helps
