Auto Insurance Claims/Comprehensive Garage Door Claim

Question
I damaged someone car by closing the garage door on it.  The car was stopped.  Is this a comprehensive or collision claim?

Answer
Hi Dennis,

If you did not own the car and it was your garage door at your home that you closed on the car, then this would be a claim against your homeowners insurance. If the claim is being presented to the vehicle owners auto insurance company, this would be under their collision coverage.

If there are other facts that you did not provide, please ask a follow-up question and provide those facts.

I hope this helps
