Question
ON A COMP. CLAIM CAN YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY MAKE YOU INSTALL AFTERMARKET PARTS INSTEAD OF OEM PARTS. 2001 CHEVY TAHOE WITH NO REPAIR HISTORY

Answer
The answer is .. it depends.

After-market parts will often be used on cars after they reach a certain age.. and that age will vary from company to company.... usually in the 3-5 year range and older.  At 4 years you're right at the cusp...

See what your company's standard protocal/practices are.  See if they differentiate between 1st Party claims (COMP or COLL) and 3rd Party claims (Property Damage).

Might also want to check with you State Insurance Dept to see if they have any standard(s) on the issue.

Hope and trust that the above answers your question.
