Question
Hi,
I will be taking my driver's test next week. I have found a really good used car that i like.

Since i dont have a license, i dont have insurance.

Can i buy this car in my name(simply get the car title signed in my name on the back)....and get someone who has insurance to drive the car home ?

Answer

Dear Deepak,

It would be a lot better for you to put down your payment with the seller and have him hold the car until you can drive it home.

Your friend with insurance will only protect himself in an accident.  His insurance will do nothing to protect your investment.
