What should my mum reply to The following question the insurance company has sent her following a claim she's making :-
The information recorded by Zurich on the claims and underwriting exchange database is a claim for R Jones (your spouse) and has not been recorded against your name. When the policy was incepted you would have been asked a series of questions regarding the driving history for all drivers on the policy. You would have been asked if any of the drivers had ben involved in any claims, thefts, accidents or losses irrespective of blame or wether a claim occurred. The claim on 06/06/03 does not appear to have been disclosed to ourselves.
The policy was taken out in her name with her 7yrs no claims. My father (R Jones) is on the policy and she didn't tell them there was a minor claim on my fathers insurance was on the date they mentioned as she forgot. does this mean there not going to pay out? She's worried sick about this and how to reply. What should she do?

The insurance company's decision to insure someone and if so, what premium to charge is based on all of the drivers' claim history.
If an omitted claim is later found, it is the insurer's option to either cancel the policy and refund all premiums paid back to the policy inception date or bill the policy holder for any additional premiums that may be due or take no action.
As they obviously already have the prior claim information, it will do no good for her to deny the prior claim. As a current claim is being processes, she must answer the question or risk having the current claim denied for failure to cooperate.
I would be surprised to see anything other than a rate adjustment on something like this unless the current claim is huge, involving injury, death, DUI, etc.
As this is so policy, state and company specific, you might want to check with an attorney though.
