Auto Insurance Claims/not at fault, repair using my insurance

Question
I was recently in an accident where I filed a claim to both my insurance and theirs. Within the next day, they accepted liability for the claim.  My insurance has provided a second tow and a car rental and is saying that they will take care of the repair and rentals, and issue a letter of subrogation to their insurance company.  Can I still cancel my claim with my insurance and handle it through theirs without any out of pocket expenses or rate adjustments?  Also, since I am not at fault and the car is only 4 months new do I have to accept non-OEM parts?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Justin,
Handling the repairs through your own company is the best possible way to go.  If you use one of their 'preferred' repair shops, the repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own the car.
In cases like this, you will normally have to pay your deductible, which will be reimbursed at the completion of subrogation.
If you suffered any injuries, you don't want to cancel your claim against the adverse company because you will eventually be filing a claim for pain and suffering.
You should demand that OEM parts be used in you repair, especially if any mechanical parts were damaged.  Using anything other than OEM mechanical parts will void your warranty.I trust this information has been of help.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
