The text above is a follow-up to ...

-----Question-----
my 23 year old daughter was driving my car with me in the vehicle shes not on my insurance, and she got into an accident whats going to happen to me or my insurance/
-----Answer-----
Dear Christine,

I hope neither of you were hurt.

For your answer, you will have to look to your policy exclusions.  If your daughter is not excluded, she will be a permissive driver, and hence insured.

Your daughter will be covered as insured under your insurance as a permissive driver of your car, IF she does not live with you or your car is not "regularly available" for her use.

Your policy will have exclusions for drivers who live with you and for whom your car could be considered regularly available for their use.

Otherwise, let's say your daughter lives elsewhere and was visiting you, she will be an insured under your policy.

Best wishes,

Answer
Hi again, Christine,

You did not give me any information that I said was critical in my response to you.  So please go back and read carefully what factors will influence whether or not your daughter will be covered for liability or personal injuries.

As to your question, it is not clear what you are asking about.  Is this damage to someone else's vehicle, or is this damage to your vehicle you are asking about?

As for your own vehicle, so long as she is a permissive driver, even if she is not covered on your liability portion, you can make a claim for your property damage to your own vehicle under your own policy.

A good way to figure out what is covered and what is not is to call your agent who sold you the policy.  She should be able to tell you and her conversation alone with you will not result in raising your rates.  Give your agent a call also and see what she says.

Best wishes,
