i have tried to install one in my tercel which is a 1.5L and manuel.  It didn't work and i attached it to the correct wire on the ignition module and then when i look into and could figure it out. so i went to Toyota dealer and they told me that the 5 speed does have a tach wiring running to the ECU for that car and that i would have to go to a performance shop and have them install one to my car aftermarket.
