Question
where is the knock sensor located on my 90 camaro RS v8

Answer
On these older small-blocks it is usually located on the side of the block just forward of the starter motor.  You will recognize it as a fairly large diameter sender (compared to all the other sensors on the engine) with a round white connector in the center (the boot on the wire connector covers this white part, you will have to pull it off to check, there should be a single pin in the center of the connector).  Just go ahead and buy a new one first, and make sure it matches the old one in appearance before installing it (they made a few different ones, mostly with different connectors, so make sure it plugs into your harness before screwing it into the hole).
