Question
The Automatic transmission pan on a 2007 Hyundai Sonata is in a vertical position under the battery.  It appears that to remove the battery and cable clamps that it may not be a difficult job to replace the filter and gasket.

Have you had experience with this one or what do you think?

Thank You

Lorin

Answer
I really don't know.  Generally, when the pan is mounted in a vertical plane, there is no filter behind it.  It is quite possible that there is no filter, a lot of GM's FWD vehicles have been built that way since the late '90's.  I think you should ask at the dealer. I cannot find anyone who sells an aftermarket filter kit, a good sign that there may not be one.
