Question
Hey Mike where would I find the oxygen sensor on a dodge ram pick up.It is a 95 /w a 5.9 liter engine. How hard to replace?
Thank you James

Answer
It should be screwed into the exhaust manifold, or the exhaust pipe just below the connection to the exhaust manifold.  It's important that it be as close to the engine as possible, but they sometimes move it a little further away so that you can get at it to replace it.  There is also one located behind the catalytic converter, but that one almost never goes bad; in fact, the purpose of the rear sensor is to determine if the catalytic converter is working properly.  If you got a code for a sensor from the computer, they mean the one in the front.  My book shows two different sensors, one with a 12 inch wire and one with 18 inches, so I assume that there are sensors on both sides.  There is almost no reliable way to determine which one is bad, so I would replace both since they are both the same age.
