Question
I'm replacing an automatic transmission in a 1990 Camry. My model is a STD. and the transmission I got to replace it came from a DX. They look identical except the DX has an extra electrical plug on it. Can I make this interchange work?

Answer
Neither of these model designations corresponds to ones actually used by Toyota.  If the transmission came from a different year or a car equipped with a different engine, it almost definitely won't work.  That extra connector is a good hint that it won't work, as well.  I would advise against trying this one.
