Question
Dear Sir,

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram and it looks like there are 2 pvc valves, one on top of each of the valve covers.  Am I correct in this?  (My former car was a 4 cyl. and it only had one.  I'm assuming that there are 2 on an 8?

Thanks,

Steve

Answer
There should just be one PCV valve, in one of the valve covers.  Whatever is plugged into the other one should be connected to one of the other emission control systems.  I've never seen anything with more than one PCV valve; the way that they work there is just no way that more than one would be needed.  My guess is that what looks like a second one is the crankcase vent.  Follow the hoses, one should go to the manifold on the vacuum side of the throttle body (the PCV valve), and the other should go to the air intake tract on the air cleaner side of the throttle body.
