Will the gas tank from a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo fit my 1996?

    I don't have an aftermarket source for these tanks, but I think it probably would fit in the space.  However, the tank-mounted fuel pump is very different looking, and the whole fuel injection system uses different parts.  I don't think I would assume that this would work; I would go the salvage yard and let them use their cross-reference to find you a good used tank that will fit.
