Question
What is the "Open door indicator" switch's name?
You referenced the switch in your article:
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Auto-Parts-3319/2010/1/Open-Door-Indicator.htm

I have the factory service manual, but can't find reference to it. :-(

Answer
This all depends on how the switch is organized.  If they are using the same switch that turns on the dome light, then it is called a "door jamb switch."  If not, then it is in the latch assembly and could be called anything.  Manufacturers love to give their parts unusual names, and translating them from Japanese doesn't help things.  If you've got a wiring diagram, follow the wiring to the switch and it should have the name on the diagram.
