Question
Hi,
I've a Cherokee 2.5 petrol, 1997 make.
car needs a new Engine ECU.
Have looked around on site to order parts, as it is very expensive to buy Jeep parts here in Malaysia.

On these sites I've visited found pout ECU part number I've is incomplete.

The one I've is: P56041  (Engine ECU)
figured out there are 5 more digits to this pat# to complete the string.

Can anyone help me identify the part number for my Engine ECU.

My VID # for the cherokee is: PP4FN38H1TM001936

Thanks,
sailesh

Answer
There should be three more digits (Arabic numerals) and two letters (Roman alphabet).  There  is a sticker on the ECM, and you will have to remove the ECM from the car in order to read it.  If the sticker is missing (might be if it's been previously replaced), the Chrysler or Jeep dealer should be able to figure it out from the VIN number (on the cowl beneath the windshield glass, directly in front of the left-hand seat).  Look on the website rockauto.com, it should have the information you need, and they can probably ship to you.
