Question
I have a 2007 Ford Focus with 40,000 miles and the original shocks.
What shocks would you recommend for a very smooth ride ?
Thanks,   Ray

Answer
The Focus is not designed with an especially smooth ride.  It is more European in its ride/handling characteristics.  The Crown Vic is the best choice for a smooth ride among all cars built today (or a Lincoln Town Car---same thing).  If smoothness is your priority, buy the OE shocks from Ford, and buy the ones intended for the base model.  Don't buy Motorcraft shocks at a parts store, or from a Ford dealer.  Buy the Ford shocks, with Ford part numbers, at the Ford dealer.  They will give you the softest ride, at the expense of a little handling prowess.
