Auto Parts/cost to repair headgasket

Question
I was just told my 2001 chrysler 300 will need a new headgasket, my
question is about how much am I looking at spending I was quoted
1000 or around there??

Answer
If you are talking about having a pro do the job that sounds about right.  I'm sure he is planning on replacing both head gaskets at that price.  There is a lot of stuff that needs to be removed and then replaced in order to do this job.  Still, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a couple of other quotes (and make sure that he is right about the gasket being bad).
