Question
How do I repair a hole in my 2000 Mazda 626 gas tank? It looks like a dual layer shell.

Answer
The outer layer is just a shield to protect the actual tank from rocks and other debris on the road.  The whole tank will have to come out, and the shield will have to be removed.  Then you can go to a parts store and buy some gas tank repair gunk to do the job.  In the old days, we would use a wood screw and a flat neoprene washer screwed into the hole.  The stuff from the parts store will work better.
