i have a 1990 grand wagoneer 360v8 auto 3.31 gear is there an over drive trans that is a direct interchange

    You can use the overdrive version of the Chrysler 727 transmission, which was fitted to newer Dodge trucks.  You will have to do some fiddling to adapt the transfer case and for the length of the driveshaft.  You might want to consider swapping the trans and transfer case together from the Dodge donor.
