Question
My dad has a 1994 dodge 1500 pickup and is wanting to know what other brands of engines are interchangeable with it? Also, if he finds an engine from a dodge, what years of pickups can he choose from?

    You can put any engine in there that you want, even a Ferrari.  But, that's a bad idea.  You should use a Dodge engine.  A 318 or a 360 from the sixties right up until the late nineties would work fine.  You will need to make a few allowances to make the engine fit if it comes from a different year, but all Dodge V8s are basically the same.  You could also use a 440 or other big-block, but they mount differently and would require some extra work.
