Question
1952-1959 ford 6 cyl. engines. are they interchangeable?

Answer
Pretty much.  Ford used the same 6 cyl engine up until 1960, when they introduced the 170 for the Falcon.  This was developed into the 200 and the 250.  At the same time they introduced the 240, which was developed into the 300 and used for about 30 years in trucks and some taxi cabs.  All of the earlier engines were pretty much the same, although several different displacements were used.
