Need to know to let down tail gate. Handle is broken trying to pull it down will not unlatche.

Answer
    The inside portion of the tailgate comes off so that you can reach the latch and release it.  Then you can fit a new handle; they're pretty cheap.  If you are having trouble getting the panel off you can reach in between the gate and bed with a slim jim and coax the latch out of it's catch (both sides).
