Question
Hello Mr. Evans, I recently had a minor accident that cracked my right front fog light. My auto is a 1997 Chrysler Sebring LXi Coupe,my question is that I cannot seem to find a fog light for the year of my car,yet I find plenty of fog lights for Sebrings for 2001,2002,2003,2004 on up and even for convertibles. Are those fog lights compatible for my auto even though they are of a different year, but same make? Thank you for your expertise.

Answer
I don't have a Chrysler parts book, so I can't be sure whether or not there were factory fog lights available in 1997.  What Chrysler used to do was offer a kit which included a factory-style switch, harness, and mounting bracket for fog or driving lights.  Then the dealer would install whatever aftermarket lights suited their budget.  Look carefully at the lights and see if there is a brand name on the lens or on the housing.  If you find one such as Hella or Bosch you can look at their online catalog and order the replacement.  If it turns out to be some obscure Asian brand, or is discontinued, just go to a store and pick out a pair of replacement lamps of the same size and shape.  If you see the little penta-star Chrysler emblem on the lamp then it IS a Chrysler lamp.  In this case it will also have a Chrysler part # and the dealer can order it for you.
