Question
wish to know if i can swap my 2001 mitsubishi montero sport 3.0  engine to a chevrolet 350 v8 engine and still use the montero automatic transmission?

Answer
No, for two reasons.  The engine won't bolt to the transmission without fabrication of a spacer for both the transmission and the flex plate (which won't bolt to the crank without similar difficulties).  And, the torque from the Chevy engine would rip the gears out of the Montero transmission.  It would be much more practical to swap the whole powertrain for Chevy parts, although still quite a job.  Most practical would be to buy a Blazer and swap the V8 into that.
