Question
what are the torque specs on vortec heads on a 350 chevy that had regular heads to begin with

Answer
You need to consult the little book that Fel-Pro supplies.  It has the torque values for all the cylinder heads, and the sequences for torquing.  I would think that the torque sequence would be the same, but I would not assume it.  Using the right gasket is important, too.  A Fel-Pro blue gasket is the only one I would even consider.  They a have a tech-help line (check their website) and are usually very helpful.  Chevy's performance people (also online) can also probably help.
