Auto Parts/Daytime running lights

Question
We replaced the solonoid for my '97 Passport, thank you.  Next issue is that as I am in Canada, I need to have daytime running lights, but the vehicle does not have it.  Is there a way to fix it so it does?  Thank you.

Answer
Yes, you just hook up a relay to the ignition circuit.  I'm pretty sure that Painless Wiring sells a kit for this, check their website.  We used to sell a kit at our store, but that company went out of business.  All it requires is a relay that is energized whenever the car is running.  You might need a wiring diagram to figure out which circuit to use.  The important thing is that is does turn the lights off when the car is off, or your battery will be toast.
