Auto Parts/1970's Ford Parts Interchange

Question
Dear Mike,
I have some questions about some parts interchangability between full-size and midsize 1970's Fords. First, is a tilt-steering column from a 1975 Ford Thunderbird a bolt-in replacement for a 1975 Ford Gran Torino? Also, is the windshield wiper switch the same for both cars? Can the radiator from a T-bird be used in a Torino? Can I use the T-birds 460 motor mounts to put a 460 in the Torino?
Any guidance you can provide is much appreciated! Thank you in advance, Patrick W.

Answer
The mounts will probably work, but not the rest.  A 1976 T-Bird is, for all intents and purposes, a 1976 MKIV Lincoln.  Of course, there are scads of these Lincolns scattered around the wrecking yards of the nation; I have owned two of them.  Most of these parts from a 1976 Torino or LTDII will work, however.
