Question
I have a 1989 chevy 1500 standard with 350 engine...the ignition key will not turn off...will turn from on to start..but not OFF...do I need to pull steering column or just replace ignition switch?  Please help...THANKS  GAIL

Answer
Hello Gail,

I use to have a 1989 Chevy K Model Blazer, (Has same ignition switch)  with mine you use to have to push the switch in towards the steering column to get it into the off position and remove the key, try this, also incase the switch has ever been replaced, try looking for a button in the area of the switch that would need to be pushed in to get the key out.

If neither one of these apply to your situation, then it is most likely a bad ignition switch, and will need to be replaced, however, this should not effect the column, you should need only to replace the switch itself.

Please keep me informed of your progress.

Thank you

Good Luck.
