Question
I have a 97 Expedition and the suspension system is gone.  I want to replace the back suspension with springs, which are rather pricey.  I have found a pair at a junkyard which seem to be in perfect shape.  My questions is will they fit on my car?  The junked car and mine are the same, but I am not sure if any of these springs are factory and if so, would they work, or did all cars come with air suspension?  If I could use those springs it would same e mega bucks.

Thanks,
Maryann

Answer
Hello Maryann,

If the vehicles are IDENTICAL, then the springs should work in your vehicle.  However, remember that you dont know what other modifications were done to the other car to make the springs in it work.  Your car may need the same or similar modifications done also to use them.  I recommend using new parts from a part store, they will be able to set you up with the correct parts and any other parts needed to properly do the job, and if anything doesnt work, you can return it, unlike a junked part.

Good Luck

Thank you.
