Auto Parts/roof rack cross bars

Question
Hello,

You responded to me with "you don't answer homework questions" I'm not sure why, maybe it was a mistake. My question was:

I have a 05 Buick Rendezvous that needs crossbars to complete the roof rack. I already have the side track, they are not raised like most vehicles. They are angled and have a track on top. What I need is crossbars to go across. Are there any universal crossbars that will fit my vehicle? I didn't want to go with Yakima or Thule b/c of the price. Are there any alternatives?

Answer
Hello Terrell,

The question that you are asking me, is one that can be answered by use of many channels.  One of the best is GOOGLE.  Google is a wonderful tool.

Try doping a google search for you specific part or vehicle, or a combination of the two, also you can try checking on Ebay, they have many parts for vehicles, which way include the one you are looking for.

As for universal parts, i recommend staying away from them, the reason being is that just like with hats that advertise "one size fits all" anyone who has ever bought one, knows that is more like "one size fits none". LOL.

When it comes to aftermarket parts, the best option is to call around to local auto parts stores, and auto customizing shops, they can give you a wide range of access to many parts that could work for your vehicle, also dont just take their prices as the end all.  Shop around.  Try JCWhitney, or other aftermarket parts WHOLESALERS (search GOOGLE for "AFTERMARKET CAR PART WHOLESALERS").

Give those options a try and let me know how you make out.

Thank you.
