Question
QUESTION: Hi there
I`m trying to interpret the NHRA rules regarding throttles.
I`ve built a full chassis car and am still using the OEM
gas pedal, cable and throttle bracket.
Will this be allowable ?
I will also incorporate the use of additional return springs.
thanks

ANSWER: What class are you running? Is this a tube chassis? How is the pedal mounted?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Hi again
The car has 2x3 rails and a 14pt cage.
The car is intended to just bracket race , but should
be able to slip into hot-rod ,or super-rod.
The pedal is mounted on a bracket off of a cage support.
thx

Answer
You should be ok but I would add a toe loop to the pedal so that you can manually close the throttle in case it gets stuck. You should also call your division tech director and see what he says.
