| Comment | Thank you very much, Dan. I'll find a shop with a dyno and a good tuner. Your general comments about water/methanol injection were helpful. If you are wondering why I don't just intercool, it's to avoid the large throttled volume and the associated poor throttle response that intercooling causes on a supercharged Miata. Because the SC set-up requires the thottle body to be moved and placed ahead of the blower, and the blower is on the opposite side of the engine from the intake manifold, it's a long way already from butterfly to intake manifold. Add an intercooler and the throttled volume becomes way too much for me. A turbo dosen't have this problem because the throttle plate can stay right at the intake mainfold, after the turbo and intercooler. Thanks again. | ||

During my first start in the 60's I won many solo awards and the State Championship Drags. I serve as a senior instructor for SCCA, and have taught in Mercedes AMG events at Daytona, and Dodge Viper Days at Sebring International. I have been in the thick of the competition for all of my career. At one time or another I have driven race cars at speeds nearing 195 MPH. It's quite a ride !
