Question
dan; where can my wife and i find more info on dwarf cars. are there any magazines that we can subscribe to to learn more about these race cars.we would like to get started in racing,  are both over 55 and it looks like a lot of fun.

Answer
Hi:

I know little about them, but if you'll try Google and simply type in 'dwarf cars' in the search window, there are pages and pages of info to be had.

The best racing magazine bar none,is "Circle Track"  try them at www.circletrack.com- - - it's full of technical advice mostly aimed at Late Models and Super Mods, but there are plenty of articles about dirt racing, including tire prep and stuff like that.

Even though I am a road racer in Sports Car Club of America, I read it thoroughly every month, and always find something of use.

Now then. You might just want to look into the Sports Car Club, go to www.scca.org  Look for a reagion in your area, then for a district in your community, and attend a few meetings and/or regional races. We have a lot of fun , don't spend TOO much money and there are racing classes for nearly everybody and everything, in some cases, even the Legends and Baby Grands. I race with Baby Grands and they clean my CLOCK !

More specific questions would be welcome.

Experience

I have been racing for 20 years, I have been the Central Florida SCCA Regional Championship points for 5 years running, and won the championship in my class 2 times. During my first start in the 60's I won many solo awards and the State Championship Drags. I serve as a senior instructor for SCCA, and have taught in Mercedes AMG events at Daytona, and Dodge Viper Days at Sebring International. I have been in the thick of the competition for all of my career. At one time or another I have driven race cars at speeds nearing 195 MPH. It's quite a ride !
