would i gain anything if i made all of the engine and transmission mounts solid like they do in a rear wheel drive race car thanks

Absolutely!!  Replacing any mount or bushing with a solid or improved material reduces unwanted flexing, unpredictable movements which all contribute to an inconsistent set up.  I've seen a lot of racers use shock absorbers from motorcycles incorporated in their setup so they can adjust a certain amount of movement into their set ups too.  You're right on track!!!
