Auto Racing/454

Question
If you put a 454 into 87 monte carlo ss would you need to change the brakes and suspension to compensate for the boost in horse power.

Answer
It all depends on the horsepower and torque output of the engine. A stock 454 would be fine with the original disc/drum set up but the front springs will need to be changed because the 454 is heavier.
Also the transmission would need to upgraded as the Turbo 200 that is in that car cannot handle the added torque.
