Question
I have have had a yearning to drive before i even stepped behind a wheel. Now i feel like my home is in the drivers seat. I have always wanted to have it be my career but i never have taken innitiative to race ever! Where can i go in Kansas so get some training or at least some automotive repair training that would launch me to the track?

Answer
Go to Google, find SCCA.org.  Find their address in Topeka, Go there and ask them.

Other than that, at least join SCCA, and take it from there. All the experience you could ask for , but understand , race cars areen't free, and nobody is going to loan you one, though rentals are available. You still need $1200 worth  of personal gear, a helmet, suit, gloves and such.

SCCA is a great place to start though.

Good luck

Experience

I have been racing for 20 years, I have been the Central Florida SCCA Regional Championship points for 5 years running, and won the championship in my class 2 times. During my first start in the 60's I won many solo awards and the State Championship Drags. I serve as a senior instructor for SCCA, and have taught in Mercedes AMG events at Daytona, and Dodge Viper Days at Sebring International. I have been in the thick of the competition for all of my career. At one time or another I have driven race cars at speeds nearing 195 MPH. It's quite a ride !
