Question
I have a 83 cj7 with a chevy 350 & 5 speed trany. Right now it has stubby headers and I wish to put long tube fenderwell headers but cannot find a company that builds them in the right configuration. Will I have to build them myself, or can you give me the name of a company that will build them.

Answer
Hi Jason.

There are almost always custom hot-rod shops  available , and certainly there should be some in your area.
If you call around to muffler shops you might find someone, and ceertainly if you contact a couple of the pro race shops , you should find someone.

What you're looking for is a long tube header to fit a one-off engine swap - - -only by the slightest chance would you  find a set that would fit well.  And a good custom builder will craft a set that will look neat, and cnoserve as much horsepower as possible,

Goog luck !

I have been racing for 20 years, I have been the Central Florida SCCA Regional Championship points for 5 years running, and won the championship in my class 2 times. During my first start in the 60's I won many solo awards and the State Championship Drags. I serve as a senior instructor for SCCA, and have taught in Mercedes AMG events at Daytona, and Dodge Viper Days at Sebring International. I have been in the thick of the competition for all of my career. At one time or another I have driven race cars at speeds nearing 195 MPH. It's quite a ride !
