Answer
Hi Brice:

I don't know a lot about Karting in the Sarasota area, but since I live here (Sarasota) too, I CAN get you involved in SCCA racing.  Some of the classes are nearly as inexpensive as upper level Karting.

I'm going to do a bit of web surfing though and may have a better answer for you later.

In the mean time, if you would like to join SCCA, give me a call at home , number in 926-3232 , I'm usually home evenings

OK  try going to 'www.tricitykartclub.com'  and/or contact:
Mark Roberts (727) 278-4926  that's a St.Pete/Clearwater number.   It looks like they do their racing at DeSoto Speedway east of Bradenton on SR 64.

Good luck !

Experience

I have been racing for 20 years, I have been the Central Florida SCCA Regional Championship points for 5 years running, and won the championship in my class 2 times. During my first start in the 60's I won many solo awards and the State Championship Drags. I serve as a senior instructor for SCCA, and have taught in Mercedes AMG events at Daytona, and Dodge Viper Days at Sebring International. I have been in the thick of the competition for all of my career. At one time or another I have driven race cars at speeds nearing 195 MPH. It's quite a ride !
