Question
Why is it that on the podium at the French Grand Prix there is NO Champagne. Its comes from France. They have it at all other races, this has puzzled me for ages. I was at the Mumm champange celers in Riems in France and they couldn't answer my Question.

Answer
Thanks for the question Lawrence.

Generally the champagne is sprayed after all F1 races except:
Muslim countries where alcohol is not permitted
If a war, incident, death or bad accident means that such celebrations would be inappropriate

I'm not sure which year and race you refer to, but I imagine that if champagne wasn;t sprayed at a particular French grand prix, it would have bene for the latter reason.

Hope this answers your question,
Adam
