Question
I live in St Pete and my son has a 92 Geo Storm 16 valve, He needs an engine can you give me a source. I need to help him get it back on the road..a good used engine would do.

Not really my area of expertise, but around here Cophers U Pull It is probably a good start. They are reasonable and since you do all the work the prices are right. You shouldn't have much trouble finding the same engine there.
There are a dozen other wrecking yards around St. Pete, a BIG one on 16th. Av. No. (I forgot the name) They will have engines already removed.
Some yards give a warranty with a used engine, others don't . Basically if the engine has fewer miles on it, it's probably OK, anything over 100,000 miles though I would pass up unless I was prepared to do an overhaul. Try for one with 50 to 60,000 miles.

| Comment | Thanks for your quik and knowledgable answer I wil probly stick with the 1.6l and tweak that a bit I just finished putting buying new headders and a dual friction clutch and throwout barring for it and put them on last weekend so it would be probly wise just to stick with the one thats in it. I have been racing for 20 years, I have been the Central Florida SCCA Regional Championship points for 5 years running, and won the championship in my class 2 times. During my first start in the 60's I won many solo awards and the State Championship Drags. I serve as a senior instructor for SCCA, and have taught in Mercedes AMG events at Daytona, and Dodge Viper Days at Sebring International. I have been in the thick of the competition for all of my career. At one time or another I have driven race cars at speeds nearing 195 MPH. It's quite a ride !
