Question
hey dan, i want to know about tuning cars, like how do they attach front bumpers, rear bumpers, spoilers and all those cool stuff and if you give illustrations and pictures and DECENT sites thanks a lot bye....

Answer
Hello Boodi:

I'm afraid I can't help you very much.  All my work is on real race cars that we race on race tracks, and has absolutely NOTHING to do with anything driven on the street.

Bumpers are bolted on, so are wings and all that aerodynamic stuff. On a race car their positioning is critical to the high speed handling of the car. But on a street car, maybe they're cool, but they accoomplish absolutely nothing at any speed under about 120 MPH/190 KPH.

The best advice I can give you is to buy a copy of SPORT COMPACT Magazine, and subscribe.  You'll learn a lot from that very fine hobbiest magazine.

Good luck,

Experience

I have been racing for 20 years, I have been the Central Florida SCCA Regional Championship points for 5 years running, and won the championship in my class 2 times. During my first start in the 60's I won many solo awards and the State Championship Drags. I serve as a senior instructor for SCCA, and have taught in Mercedes AMG events at Daytona, and Dodge Viper Days at Sebring International. I have been in the thick of the competition for all of my career. At one time or another I have driven race cars at speeds nearing 195 MPH. It's quite a ride !
