Question
i have a '98 3500 1 ton 4 door long bed diesel. i am installing an alarm on it but am way confused on what i need to do. 1 web site says one thing and another web site says the oppsite. im concerned with the door lock system. is it a positive trigger or negative? what do i need to do concerning the passlock or does my truck even have it? how do i tell? i think it is a positive trigger and if so then do i have to diode isolate these wires? thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
Ok,
Some of the larger truck for that year
did not have Passlock II installed.
The key either will have the chip embeded
in the metal part of the key, visable, or
if key has a black rubberized key cover,
it would be hidden inside the black part.

Best way to find out is go to the hardware
stoe, get a 3.00 key cut, and try it.

If no joy, you have passlock II.
A bypass is required to remote start (likely).

For the rest of the notes, go to

Your truck wiring and info is there for

Enjoy!
