Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 9/18/2007

Question
A few days ago, I went to unlock my truck with the remote. The remote did nothing when I hit the unlock button. I took it apart and found the unlock button broke right off the circuit board inside. The unlock button on the remote is the only thing that will shut the alarm off and reset the security. I went to use the key to get in my truck today and the alarm went off. Now I'm stuck home on a work day trying to find a way to start it to bring it somewhere and get it fixed. I was told to look for a small red button underneath the dashboard. I found a black box which has a red button, black button, and on/off toggle switch. I called my local dealer and car alarm installer and did what they told me to try and reset the security system, but nothing worked... What do I need to do to at least get it running?

Answer
Either try key on, flip the toggle switch in the
opposite direction, and then key off.
If this does not allow you to start now,
then get up under the dash, locate the starter
disable relay and socket the after market installer
put inline on either the green/yellow  or,
the black/white in the ignition switch harness.

Then you will need to cut out the relay and
re attatch the 2 starter wire ends to be able
to start it without problems everytime.

You will need wire cutters, butt connectors (yellows)
and black electrical tape.
