QUESTION: Hello, I am having a bit of trouble with my alarm, I have a factory pontiac trans am alarm system. When I lock or unlock the car through the remote, the front exterior lamps flip open and close shut. It did not do this before. Is there a way I can reset the system to solve this issue?

  Please describe "factory alarm" in more detail.
Reason I say this is, let's say it was an aftermarket
alarm. The parking light output may be sending
a pulse and the parking light/headlight switch
is picking up the pulse and flashing the
lights in confirmation. If on the incorrect wire,
it would do what you are saying. But never
heard of the factory keyless/alarm doing that.

Go to www.keynfob.com and see what alarm you do have
using the fcc ID on the back of the remote.
Then you might get a bit more info to share with me
so I can try to help.

QUESTION: Hello, what I meant by factory alarm is that it is the alarm that came with the car. Here is the information I found on the remote: it is a GM 1624510029,CANADA 218101368
MODEL/FCCID:AB01502T. Hope that is enough info, thanks for your time.

Ah, not good. You need to contact the folks at the
local GM dealer service department for
inspection and resetting. If it were after market...
But according to the info, it's OEM equipment.

Sorry. There's not allot you can do on your own
with this specific car but to visit the dealer.
