i had a remote start installed on my 2000 jeep cherokee laredo. i got the second key as they requested. i just had it done yesterday,when he tested it at the shop it started right up. when i got home, it took about 3 or 4 trys for it to start. sometimes it will start on the first try, and sometimes it takes 3 or 4 trys. the last time i tried to start it with the remote, it tried 6 times, and it still wouldnt start. after that i went to start it with the key, and it didnt weant to start, like it drained my battery.but it did start and drove fine. it has a brand new battery in it, so i dont understand why the remote start wont work? help,its cold outside!

It's possible the installer did the bypass correctly, but
it sounds as if it also need a tach wire connection
and the system needs to be programmed for it.

Take it back and have him look at TACHOMETER
type installation, as opposed to "SMART"
or "start through induction" type of setting.
Known as "tachless" to some.

This could correct the trouble.

Also, the spare key transponer module
used may need to be looked at for the
"sweet spot". (mention that) and suggest
they locate the best place to mount the
"transponder loop" so it remote starts
every time, then hot glue it in place.

That will fix that issue.

Then cross your fingers and give it a try again.
But please until then, refrain from
"dry starting" it over and over.
The fuel rail is shut down, and
it can/will eventually cause damage, and drain
the battery as you can see.

Let me know what they discover.
