Expert: INSTALLSUPPORT - 9/2/2007

I have had this problem for over 2 years.  My car would start and immediately die.  I had to have it towed to the dealer where they replaced the instrument cluster and said that would take care of the problem.  Luckily, at that time, it was still under warranty.  Since that time, I have intermittently had the same problem.  I found that if I removed the key, hit the "lock" and then "unlock" button on my remote, it would then start up fine.  This started to happen with great frequency and I called them again.  I had to bring my car back and bring all the keys which they said needed to be reset.  That helped for a while until this weekend, when it would not stay running no matter what I did.  I had to pay to have it towed back, and now, they won't even look at it until Tuesday.  I am very upset that this problem keeps occurring.  I'm afraid that they will want to do a costly repair that I can't afford.  I also cannot afford to be without my car.  Is there a way this system can be disabled in a Beetle?  It runs great otherwise.  I am sick of getting the run around.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

No sorry, I wish it were that simple.
But if it's not working correctly, and VDUB
can not help, I can't advise anything
short of immobilizer system replacement,
and that's going to be expensive.

Wish I had more to offer, but this one is simply
an OEM system I have no information on.
