QUESTION: How can I diable my factory alarm on my 2004 Durango.  Both factory key remotes are no longer working (even with new batteries) and everytime I use the door key to enter the alarm goes off till I put the key into the ignition.  I saw how to disable a 1999 Durango. Is it the same?
p.s. A new Durango remote key (only one) is $153.00 and I need two.

ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in.

QUESTION: It IS a factory installed alarm. The horn goes off when I use the key to manually open the door. I want the alarm disabled...

That's troublesome. :>(

THESE VEHICLES CAN BE DISARMED IN ONLY TWO WAYS,
EITHER BY FACTORY REMOTE OR BY SEEING THE I
GNITION IN THE ON POSITION WITH THE PROPER
TRANSPONDER IN THE KEY.

There is no quick fix i can offer other then
that. Start with reprogramming the key you have at
Dodge. That would be the only way other
then adding an aftermarket system to
make the keyless system remotely disable
the factory alarm at the same time it unlocks/
locks the doors.
