Question
I just bought a 2006 ram 1500 with hemi (salvage title) It has a factory keyless entry. It will start but won't stay running. There is a sticker on the window "protected by auto mate" auto alarm system.  I had the dealer reprogram the key, and they have put a new PCM (power control module) in it. It is still in the shop trying to fine the problem. Could it have anything to do with the automate system. The shop don't think so but I would like another opinion.  It looks like it is a aftermarket automate because it is not on the factory options list of the truck. The wiring harness under the hood between the battery and windshield has been opened the only wire I see that has been messed with is a yellow wire. It has some kind of control put inline that wire does run to the start best I can tell. What am I looking for as far as this automate system is concerned and how do I get rid of  it??? sorry this is so long, and thanks for your help in advance.

Answer
Ok, the first is a transponder issue I believe, and dodge
has to fix that. If it were working, a bypass would
be able to be installed and you could solve the fuel
injector issue that way. So cart before the horse on that.

The other issue is the automate, and if installed with a starter disable,
would not allow ANY cranking if you tried.
So that not the automate doin this according to
your decription. Once they reset the factory immobilzer,
it should be ok. But once done,
I'd circumvent it for good using the
IB-UCH2GX - Chrysler Sentry Key
Transponder RF Bypass -All Years
Override all generations of Chrysler Sentry key
transponder immobilizer systems. This bypasskit is
compatible with both 1st and 2nd generation Chrysler,
Dodge & Jeep Sentry Key transponder immobilizer systems.
This transponder bypass includes a MUX activation output
which initiates the 2nd Starter & 2nd accessory wire during start up.

If the input wire is simply grounded to the chassis,
the immobilizer ceases to exsist.

Still, the ball is in Dodges court.

Sorry, good luck with it.
